Snow and Sunshine

Cedar Waxwing Watercolor

The Cedar Waxwings are in town and, geez, are they everywhere! They seem to favor all the Eucalyptus Trees around San Diego. They are hard to capture pictures of because they nest in the tops of these tall trees, so I went to the internet to look for reference photos. All of them have the Waxings sitting in a snow-covered tree with bright red berries. I found the juxtaposition of the birds I see in sunny San Diego and the the snowy reference photo so I decided to draw on on snow covered berries instead of palm trees. Enjoy!
