I’ve been really enjoying hanging out at Discovery Lake lately. This little guy was playfully swimming around in the rain.

We have a blue-billed duck, but I think your ruddy duck takes the cake!

I didn’t know that there were any other ducks with blue bills! Glad to see your ducks have colorful bills too!

A tizzy! That makes me happy! 🙂 Glad my birding adventures are as exciting for everyone else as they are for me.
What I didn’t say is that while I took this photo, a group of teenagers were hanging out on the dock too. While I was taking this photo one of their dogs fell into the lake and couldn’t get back out. Even with one person jumping into the water and pushing the dog up from behind, it took everyone on the dock to pull their massive dog out of the water. Freaked everyone (including the birds) out quite a bit. I think the dog will ever go near water again!

Beautiful photo of one of my favorite ducks. I love the way you captured the colors, textures of the feathers, and the beads of water on its back. Wonderful!

Thanks! They are such fun birds that I’m not surprised that they are your favorite duck! They were having a blast swimming around in the rain.
