Anyone else feel uncomfortable about how intensely this seagull is staring at me?
Every time I see birds on a perch, I’m reminded of these guys:

That wall was actually built in the 16th century and although that doesn’t make it quite “ancient” it does give a sense of timelessness.
You never really get to see a swan in the stage between “ugly duckling” and “beautiful swan” but here’s what it looks like. 😉
