A cute Anna’s Hummingbird risking its life darting in and out of sharp aloe plants for a little snack.
I’ve been to the San Diego Safari Park several times but never managed to make it all the way up the hill to the native plant gardens. Even though it was only 10am in the middle of winter, it was already hot when we made it up there so there weren’t many birds hanging around. You would think that the birds would be all over the plant garden, but I guess they were hanging out down in the shade in the animal part of the zoo.
Beautiful!!! We were fortunate to have one migrate through Wisconsin this past November!

If you ever get the chance, you should come to San Diego. They are everywhere here and they stay around all year long.
